Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Silu (司录) collects, why, and your rights. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address, used to sign you in and contact you about the Service.
- Voice audio — the audio you record when you dictate. It is sent to speech-recognition and AI providers to produce your transcript, then returned to you. We do not use your audio to build advertising profiles or sell it.
- Usage & billing data — limited metadata such as seconds of audio processed and subscription status, used to run your account, enforce quotas, and bill correctly.
- Synced history and preferences — original and final transcripts, recording dates, actions and styles, interface language, and available duration and acoustic measurements are stored with your account so your history and Insights work across Macs. Raw recording files remain on the Mac that recorded them; they are not uploaded as a cloud archive.
- Your dictionary — custom words and corrections you add, so recognition improves for you. These sync to your account.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.
How we use it
To provide and improve the Service, transcribe and polish your speech, manage your subscription, prevent abuse, and comply with law. We rely on your consent and on the performance of our contract with you as legal bases.
Who we share it with
We use trusted processors only to run the Service, including: Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication), Cloudflare (secure gateway and account data storage), and third-party speech-recognition and AI providers that turn your audio into text. Providers process data on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.
Where data is processed
We prefer processing within the EU/EEA where feasible. Some AI processing may occur outside the EU; in those cases we use providers and safeguards intended to protect your data, and we route EU users to EU-resident options where required.
Retention
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as required by law (for example, tax rules). Audio is processed transiently to produce your transcript and is not retained by us as a long-term archive. Synced transcripts remain available until you delete them or request account deletion. Deleting a synced record removes its text from the active cloud history and propagates to your other updated Macs; a minimal record identifier and deletion marker remain to prevent an offline device restoring it. Local audio is removed when the deletion reaches its recording Mac. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA (or a region with similar laws), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any right, email support@silu.pro. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Silu is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be notified through the Service or by email.
